Ujjain:A 24-year-old man was shot in leg near a bridge in the Hira Mill area late Monday night, in what police say was a gang attack rooted in an old dispute.The victim, Lav of Vishnupura, had parked his motorcycle under the bridge while attending a wedding procession in Karohan with two friends. When he returned around 1 am to collect his bike, two men — Anmol Gurjar and Jai alias Bachcha of Gurjar gang — cornered him. Anmol took out a pistol and fired twice; one bullet grazed Lav, the other hit his leg. The assailants fled with a third associate. Lav's companions rushed him to Charak Hospital.Dewas Gate Sub-Inspector Radheshyam Awalia said that Jai alias Bachcha was arrested within hours and produced before a court on Tuesday, which sent him on two days of police remand.
